Cheap to buy because the badge is unfashionable
Citroëns depreciate harder than the equivalent Ford or Vauxhall, and at three years old that is somebody else's problem. At ten or twelve years old it is your gain: you get the same amount of car for meaningfully less money, and by that age every make has settled into being judged on condition rather than on badge.
We have sold nearly forty of them over the years and they have been no more trouble than anything else, provided they were bought sensibly and checked properly, which is what the 50-mile road test is for.
The models we see most
C1
The same car as the Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo — jointly developed, built in the same Czech factory, mechanically identical. So shop for all three at once and buy on condition and price, not badge. Tiny running costs, low insurance, and on many registrations little or no road tax. One of the cheapest ways there is to run a car legally.
C2 and C3
Superminis with a bit more room and a lot more comfort than a C1. The C3 in particular rides beautifully for something at this price, which counts for a lot on the roads around the coast and over the moors.
Berlingo Multispace and Nemo Multispace
These are the interesting ones. A small van with windows, seats and a proper interior: enormous space, sliding side doors, a boot you can genuinely get a wheelchair, a dog crate or a full set of tools into, and a driving position you step into rather than drop down into. They are not fast and they are not quiet, but for practicality per pound almost nothing beats them, and they are consistently the Citroën people ask us for by name.
What comes with every car
12 months MOT, a full service before handover and a 3-month engine and gearbox warranty, after a 50-mile road test and mechanical health check. Every car, every price.
We are on Somerset Terrace, open Monday to Friday 9 until 5. Ring or WhatsApp Lex on 07900 910 588 before travelling — we are often out collecting cars. Part exchange welcome, subject to appraisal.
Citroëns we have sold recently
Citroën is one of the makes people search for us by most often, usually looking for a specific model we sold some time ago.
These have all found owners, but they show the sort of thing that comes through regularly. If one of them is close to what you're after, say so and we'll watch out for the next one.

Frequently asked questions
Do you have used Citroëns in stock in Scarborough?
Sometimes — they move quickly. The list on this page is live from our stock, so it is accurate today. If there is nothing showing, call and tell us what you are after.
Is a Citroën C1 the same as a Peugeot 107?
Yes, effectively. The C1, the 107 and the Toyota Aygo were developed together and built in the same factory, so mechanically they are the same car. Buy whichever is in the best condition for the money.
What is a Berlingo Multispace like to own?
Extremely practical and not remotely glamorous. Huge interior space, sliding rear doors, a high seating position and a big square boot. Slow and a bit noisy at speed, but very hard to beat for the money if you need to carry things or people.
Do your Citroëns come with an MOT?
Yes, 12 months MOT plus a full service and a 3-month engine and gearbox warranty on every car we sell.
Can I part exchange against a Citroën?
Yes, subject to appraisal, and we will buy your car outright even if you are not buying one from us.
